Tersina Shieh is our General Manager and Winemaker - an unusual job title reflecting the exceptional combination of skills she brings to IWC.

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Tersina's first career was in marketing where she made her mark bringing innovative ideas to the marketplace both through her own independent marketing consultancy firm and as the head of marketing/sales for a multinational consumer products company.

Retiring from that career at its pinnacle she moved on to pursue her growing interest in wine. She relocated to England and enrolled in Plumpton College's diploma course in grape growing and winemaking. She graduated top of her class and was also one of a handful of students passing the WSET's Honours Diploma (Level 5) the following year.

But her winemaking knowledge is not just theoretical. Since 2003 she has worked vintages in many wineries around the world, ranging from small boutique operations such as Bookers (Sussex, England) and Adega do Cantor (Algarve, Portugal) to larger outfits like Ashanti (Paarl, South Africa) and Thelema (Stellenbosch, South Africa).

So that's the 'Winemaker' part, but what about 'General Manager'? Her MBA qualification and an earlier career in the demanding corporate world have yielded excellent leadership qualities as well as management and analytical skills.

Tersina is a native Cantonese and Putonghua speaker. She loves food and wine and enjoys baking her own bread. In her spare time, she is a keen traveller and a talented photographer.
